When signing up for the relay all you need to do is select relay member and make sure to create a fun team name for your 2,3 or 4 person group.

  • How does the relay work?

    Your team of 2,3 or 4 start at the Fall Creek Trailhead (South Side and parking) with team member #1 running 6.5 miles to the day use area. At that point, you can relay after crossing the timing mat and high-fiving your friend, or you can run multiple legs and relay per your team's wishes in any order you want. 

  • Do all runners have a individual Chip?

    YES! Everyone has an individual Chip that must be worn during the event. Cross the timing point and continue on or relay to a friend. Please turn the chip in after the event. 

  • Can I run SOLO?

    Of Course!

     If you are not into the Relay, choose the 10K, half or whole, and enjoy the day! 

    With almost 1000 ft of climbing per segment, you will be challenged and rewarded with the beauty of Alsea Falls.  

    Please note that the 10K is one segment from the venue and main area finishing at the day use area. The half is one complete out and back, while the full marathon is two trips over and back. 

  • What is the cutoff for the Full Marathon?

    All teams or SOLO runners must finish two segments or the half distance by 12:30 pm in order to continue. That's 2.5 hrs! 

  • What is the best strategy?

    Leading the pack or saving your fastest runner for the final leg? Anyway, you plan it should make for a great time with friends at the Hell of the NW. Just make sure your Team Names are interesting. 

Driving Directions

Easy to find and 45 Minutes from Corvallis and 50 Minutes from Eugene off of HWY 99 West. Multiple ways Via South Fork road to access with the most popular off of HWY 99 West and 16 miles to the Alsea Falls Recreation area

One amazing day with your friends at the Alsea Falls Recreation area for a Trail realy over and back from the South side to north side of the trail system. Something for everyone for a 10K or up to as close as we can make it to a half or  Full Marathon  for that SOLO runner. See below for divisions and time frames for an October run to remember.

The Relay and Divisions

Each member pays separatly and please list your team name when registering.

Based on your members registering and team makeup we will push you into one of the categories below!


Each member can choose to start either at the Fall Creek Trailhead where our parking and party is located or start by walking over 1/4 of a mile to the day use area and relay back over across the ridge back to the Fall Creek trail head.

  • 4 Person Open under 199 years

  • Coed 4 person (must have 2 of each gender)

Aid Stations

Carry calories and water. 

We will have water available at the aid station and relay points to use .
